My teaching philosophy is that each student has a specific learning strength, so each lesson is adjusted to account for a student's learning style. I'm a tutor for my classmates in the physician assistant studies program at the New York Institute of Technology. This year, I moved to Long Island to be in this program. I enjoy seeing my peers make strides in their studies. It's a joy to help people reach their academic goals. I tutor IB sports, exercise and health science SL; math (algebra 1 and 2, geometry, statistics, and trigonometry); and science (anatomy, biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, and physiology). Prior to studying medicine, I was a high school math teacher for Teach for America in Arizona. I also served as the JV football and basketball coach. I completed college at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, and grew up in the Pacific Northwest. I have an upbeat personality that aids in learning and makes it more enjoyable. I am definitely a sports fan and enjoy playing basketball. I have traveled to Morocco and Spain; I hope to visit Greece and Italy next. I read mostly fiction and non-fiction. I enjoy cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. As for outdoor activities, I'm always up for hiking, camping, and fishing.
